          Gyanpeeth Degree College, Nikashi started the NCC unit in 2020 to provide opportunities  to the young generation of this rural area .



           NCC in India was conceptualized in the pre independence era when Britishers created the university course with an aim for second line defence. It mainly aimed to groom the young generation, to nurture them and provide adequate opportunities towards nation building by being responsible citizens.

          The NCC that we have today come into existence on 16th April, 1948, through XXXI Act of Parliament. It was formally inaugurated on 15th July, 1948.

              At present, NCC has more than 13.5 lakhs cadets comprising three services etc.The senior division /senior wing for boys /girls form colleges and Junior Division/Junior Wing for boys/girls from schools.



  1. To develop qualities of development of character ,Comradeship,Discipline,Secular outlook,Spirit of Advanture , Sportsmanship,Ideals of selfless to service among the youth of the country.
  2. To create a human resource of Organised , Trained and motivated youth, to provide leadership in all walks of life and always be available for the service of the nation.
  3. To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a carrier in the armed forces.

  • We the cadets of the national cadet corps, to solemnly pledge that we shall always uphold the unity of India.
  • We resolve to be disciplined and responsible citizens of our nation.
  • We shall under take positive community service in the spirit of selflessness and concern for our fellow beings.



The NCC is a responsive learning and continuously evolving organization. Its activity is guided by certain core values that we endeavor to instill among all ranks of the NCC.

These include the followings


  • To develop a sense of patriotic commitment.
  • Respect for religion , culture and language .
  • Ability to participate in community development .
  • To include self-awareness.
  • To understand the values of honesty ,truthfulness and self sacrifice.




The activities of the NCC are conducted to the following training objectives :

  1. To train volunteer youth to become confident and committed.
  2. Provide opportunities and encourage cadets to enhance their knowledge
  3. To enhance the awareness level of cadets.
  4. Undertake adventure activities for development of leadership qualities .
  5. Provide an environment to motivate cadets to join the arm forces as a career.
