The Heritage of Our Institution

Gyanpeeth Degree College, Nikashi, was established in 1993 with the noble aim of providing higher education to the poor and underprivileged sections of society. The institution was founded through the dedicated efforts and support of local educationists, social workers, and conscious citizens who envisioned educational upliftment in the region.

In its initial years, the college faced several infrastructural and financial challenges, yet it continued its mission with determination and community support. A significant milestone was achieved in 2013 when the college was provincialised by the Government of Assam, ensuring greater stability and growth.

Continuing its journey of expansion and academic development, the Science stream was introduced in 2024, broadening opportunities for students. Today, the college stands as a symbol of hope and progress, committed to quality education and the overall development of rural society.
